What Is SOH?
SOH stands from State Of Health, which simply qualifies the health condition of your electric vehicle’s battery. The goal is to maintain this SOH at 100% as long as possible. By doing so, your vehicle keeps its operating range like a brand new car.
Do not keep your EV's battery charged at 100% for long periods
The ideal state of charge is between 20% and 80%. The chemistry of lithium batteries is best preserved within that range. An 80% charge will often be sufficient for daily commuting. A full charge will only be necessary for your weekend and holiday trips.
Fully charge your battery just before you travel
It is recommended to charge the car battery to 100% just before leaving for a long trip. It minimizes the time your battery remains full before use.
Limit the number of fast charges
The slower the charge, the better. DC fast charging heats up the battery cells more. Electric cars are equipped with temperature control systems, however it is preferable to use a slower AC charge. Save the fast charge for long trips.
Park your car in the shade
In case of hot weather, it is better to let your electric vehicle benefit from shadow, especially while charging.
From time to time, charge your electric car's battery to 100%
The lithium batteries used in electric cars are made up of several interconnected cells that must be balanced so that they are always at the same voltage. This balancing process takes place during the charging end. This is why it is necessary to charge your battery to 100% at least once a month.
